Rotweinfleck auf Cotton Shirts: Sofortmaßnahmen

Blot the Rotwein right away (don’t rub), then flush the stain from the back with cold water if you can. Apply a simple absorber or rinse aid like salt or club soda, keep blotting, and wash as soon as possible so the stain doesn’t set.

Sofortmaßnahmen

  1. Sofort abtupfen. Ein sauberes Tuch verwenden or paper towel to press straight down and lift wine out of the fabric. Work from the outside edge toward the center.
  2. Protect the layers. If you’re wearing the shirt, take it off as soon as practical and place a towel behind the stained area so the wine doesn’t spread.
  3. Rinse from the back with cold water. Hold the fabric so water runs through the stain from the inside out, pushing wine out of the fibers rather than deeper in.
  4. If you have salt, cover the wet stain. Pile salt on the spot to absorb liquid; let it sit a few minutes, then brush off and blot again.
  5. If you have club soda, use small amounts and blot. Pour a little onto the stain and blot repeatedly with a clean cloth, switching to a dry area as it picks up color.
  6. Repeat blot/rinse cycles. Alternate between brief rinses and firm blotting until little to no color transfers to your cloth.
  7. Pre-treat if you can. Before washing, work a small amount of liquid laundry detergent into the stain with your fingers and let it sit briefly.
  8. Wash promptly and air-check. Wash with cold or cool water following the care label. After washing, check before drying; if any stain remains, repeat treatment and wash again.

Hinweise für häufige Situationen

You need to act quickly to prevent stain setting. The sooner you blot and rinse, the less time the pigments have to bind to the cotton. Even 1–2 minutes of blotting can make a big difference.

Have access to basic household items like salt or club soda. Salt helps absorb fresh liquid, while club soda can help lift color when used with repeated blotting. Use whichever is available, and prioritize blotting over pouring large amounts.

Consider the type of fabric and its colors. These steps are for cotton, but always check the care label. For colored cotton, be cautious with aggressive spot treatments; for white cotton, you may be able to repeat pre-treat and wash cycles more times without visible fading.
